Deacon Ministry

We Believe

The office of deacon was created in the early church for the purpose of enabling the pastor/teacher to minister the Word of God to the church body. (Acts 6:2-4)  The word "diakanos" primarily means "one who serves at tables."  Thus, we believe the role of the deacon is to serve the Lord by caring for the physical and spiritual needs of the church body in the areas of benevolence, sickness, and bereavement, and to be an example to the church in evangelizing the lost, studying God's Word and advancing the unity of the church.
