Director of Childhood Ministries

A devoted wife, mother, and disciple, Kim Anders is passionate in her role as the Director of Childhood Ministries at Bethel Baptist Church, whose goals are to provide a safe, secure, and loving environment for children to grow in the love of Jesus and to support the family in their responsibility for the spiritual nurture and growth of their child. “We want our people to know and love God, love people, and make disciples.” Within the Children’s Department, students are guided to “know Christ, grow in Christ with others, and show Christ to the world.”

Kim’s call to God’s ministry came during her sophomore year of college while she was working as a children’s ministry summer intern at her home church in Altus. Graduating from Oklahoma State University in 1998, she earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Family Relations and Child Development with an option in Early Childhood Education.

Most thankful for her family and the opportunity to serve alongside her brothers and sisters in Christ, Kim’s goals and dreams include using her educational background to reach families for Christ, God using the children’s ministry to grow Bethel, and for Bethel to be a lighthouse in Norman.

She continues to learn about God in that he is faithful and “does not ask for a life lived perfectly but a heart of perfect surrender.” Spare time is spent going to Oklahoma State University football games, watching Fixer Upper, scrolling through Pinterest for new recipes and decorating ideas, and sharing in the daily active lives of her three children and husband of 20 years.

The two Bible verses that speak of God’s love and His purpose for Kim are:

  • Matthew 6:33
Seek ye first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things will be added unto you,

  • Proverbs 3:5-6
Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding. But in all your ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct your paths.

LOVE GOD. LOVE PEOPLE. MAKE DISCIPLES.
